I deleted my profile for awhile and now am creating a new one. Now that I am 70, I think I can share my more important life lessons and interests. I went on social security disability in 1994 and started volunteering at www.isna.org from 1995 to 2006. Helped to create aiclegal.org and served on their advisory board 2006-2009. Co-founded www.intersexrecognition.org with my attorney friend, Toby Adams in 2011. Have written many essays on life with Klinefelter's syndrome - see: Intersex in the Age of Ethics (Chapter 8), edited by Dr. Alice Dreger, for one. Peter and I were also in the New Zealand TV documentary, www.intersexionfilm.com - see trailer. Our friend, Mani Bruce Mitchell was the narrator. The videographer then reformatted it and created a film festival version.

School Story

I have always wondered who put the sign above the pulled down gym basketball hoop that said, "Strachan was here"...? I was very shy in high school for being so tall. (I wished that I had known that I had Klinefelter's syndrome then). I really wanted to be invisible but could not hide.

When I registered for the draft in 1965, the height limit was being changed to 6'8". Since I was 6'10", I was given a IV-F and wan't able to serve. I appreciated all who did during that dreadful war.

Hello from Eastern Canada! Peter and I are celebrating our 40 years together with a Viking cruise from Montreal to Quebec City, Sagunay, Gaspe (tomorrow), Halifax, Boston and NYC where we stay for a week with Peter's brother and wife. We fly home on Halloween. I've seen several people on the ship and wonder if they are from PHHS? Maybe. No one is using the outside pools as it is cold, windy and rainy. Today we are passing through the Gulf of St. Lawrence.................
Oh, and I met someone who is taller than me at the Montreal train station.

We celebrated our 38th Anniversary last night. I took Peter to Boulevard restaurant where he's been bugging me to go! Good food, nice night, home at 10 for the news and once in bed started reading David Brooks new book, The Road to Character.

After taking a break after last summer's OLLI classes, I decided to re-enroll during the second spring session this year. I will be learning about WWI, Alexander the Great, and about how Climate Changes.

If any of my friends who are over 50 (and in the SFBA) are looking for something interesting to do, check out:
