So how do I get a signed book?

08/27/16 04:31 PM #98

Robert (Bob) Endres

When you send your request to Dave Kunkel, add a note that you want it personally signed. It's a quick read, and suspenseful to the end. While we vacationed in SE Asia, Dave vacationed in the Mediterranean. I guess we all got a taste of hell, one way or the other.

Don, in case you missed Post #91, here is the info for our featured author: Send $25 cash ($20 each for 2 or more books), to David at P O Box 670435, Chugiak, ALASKA 99567. I received mine in a week!

Why hasn't David Kunkel joined this forum or the class website?

Dave - I've been traveling since Aug 29th, and just saw your message about Dave Kunkel.  I connected with him by phone (thanks to Tom Dundas) in April, 2015, before the 50th reunion.  He received all the emails about this website and the reunion, but evidently chose not to join the website.  While I can't give out his contact info, with your permission I could send him your email if you are interested in getting in contact with him.  Let me know.  Linda

Hope you all know that the annual all class PHHS picnic will be held Sunday August 20, 2017 right across from the main entrance to our almamater.  Time is 11 am - 5 pm.  Hope you can attend!  I'll be out of the country, so won't be able to make this fun happening, but hope to hear your reports.  Bring your own food, or purchase at the event, and catch up with members of our class and other PHHS classes.

Sadly, I report the passing of Randy Milliken, Class of 64.  Randy died at home in Davis California on Jan. 2, 2018, after a long illness. I know many members of our class knew Randy, and I am especially grateful for all the help he gave me as I learned how to deal with and expand this class website.  Randy had done much of the work on the '64 site, and was a wonderful resource! To read his obituary click here.

Today Google is celebrating the 30th Anniversary of "Pi Day." A little known fact about this wonderful holiday(?) it that it was created by a PHHS alumni, Larry Shaw… Here’s his Wikipedia page: Larry Shaw (Pi)

Not sure how many of us have Wiki pages. I don't, but it would be interesting to find out who does. Go Rams!

I found my name at this link: ...the video was made in 2009.  It's a good educational video about those of us who were created different.  Happy belated Pi day to all!

So sorry that I won't be able to attend the picnic next week-end.  Hope there is a nice turnout from our class.  Please take pictures and post on the website or send to me to post when I return.  Have fun!

Hi Everyone:  I'm sorry to say I won't be attending this summer's picnic gathering in Pleasant Hill as I had hoped.  Family events and my wife's health preclude traveling so far from our new home in Colorado Springs.  I retired last fall and thought I would be free to make it this year.  I hope everyone who goes has a good time reconnecting and reminiscing.  I am also looking up old friends from the military and college and we are making new ones here.  Good luck to all.  Hope to see you next year.

Calling all local photographers.  I understand that there is or will be snow on Mount Diablo today/this evening.  If anyone gets a good photo of it send it in and we could post it on our home page.

I don't know if this will work but there was great piece about Tim Harrison and his Canyon Inn in the Chronicle.  Hopefully you can click on the following link to see it:

Looking forward to seeing some of you at the picnic on August 18 at the park across the street from the old PHHS!

Hi Kris. Tim's place is amazing. Food is great the atmosphere outstanding. Walls of memorabilia. It's well worth a trip to Redwood City

And if anyone noticed (besides Janice), in my earlier message about Canyon Inn I had a typo on the upcoming picnic date,  It is now corrected to show August 18, not the 11th.

And I am so glad many of you were able to see the article anout Tim's place!

I want to let our classmates know that our dear friend and classmate, Joe Hendershot, passed away early this morning.  Joe had a short but very brave battle with cancer.  We send our love and condolences to his wife Cathy and their children.  No arrangements for services have been made at this time.

Janice Groth (Hoagland)

Is Norm Hendershot also known as Joe?

12/07/19 08:30 PM #119

James Forney

Yes. His given name was Norman. He always went by Joe

I am so sad to hear that!   So glad I got to see him this summer!  We go back to 6th grade. He was my walking buddie when we got off the bus.  My condolences go out to his wife and children.  God bless them!   Gail
