Eric Sundin

Eric Gustav Sundin
Oct. 12, 1946 ~ Aug. 19, 2018

Eric died after a long battle with Parkinson's.  He was a resident of Clayton, CA since 1977 and he loved his town and all the festivities.  He especially enjoyed concerts in the park with longtime girlfriend Fredette Pardini.  Music, dancing, photography, motorcycles and family were his passions.  Eric was born in Stockton, the son of the late Gustav and "Teddie" Sundin. He graduated from Pleasant Hill High in1965; followed by a degree in psychology from Cal State, Chico: 1969.

He worked for many years at  Eastman Kodak in San Ramon before they relocated.  Eric was offered a transfer but simply could not leave the town he loved.  Instead he went back to school for his teaching credential.  He spent time teaching elementary school and then enjoyed retirement.  Alpha Photo was also listed as one of his employments.  He is survived by two children: Chris Sundin (with Brandi Estes) of Concord, CA and Heather Gray (with Spencer Donovan) and grand children Justin and Jenna Gray of Clayton, CA; sister and brother-in-law: Tina and Gary Olson of Rio Vista, CA. Special long-time friends: Fredette Pardini; Stan U'ren.

Graveside service & burial: Sept. 12th, 2:00 p.m. Oakmont Cemetery 2099 Reliez Valley Rd. Lafayette.

I just saw this page and wanted to add a memory of Eric. I also remember Eric from music in high school. He played the French horn, if I remember correctly. He was a nice and friendly person, and though I didn't know him well, he was someone you could greet and share a laugh with. I enjoyed talking to him at our 50th reunion, starting with the fact that his mom was my sister's teacher in elementary school. We further discovered that we both have Swedish ancestry. He had been to Sweden as I recall, to visit family, and I had lived there for many years. Fun conversation! Eric was a warm and friendly person, and my condolences go out to his family.
