Kathy and I became good friends after I came to PHHS in our sophomore year.  It was a difficult transition from my high school near Chicago and her wonderful sense of humor immediately drew me in.  Among the many fun and crazy times was a very sobering one: the evening of Nov. 22, 1963, when President Kennedy was assinated.  A group of girls decided to have a sleep over at Kathy's. The next morning, her father came rushing into the living room to wake us and herded us into the family room. Lee Harvey Oswald had been shot right on TV!

Kathy and I continued our friendship for many years and I was her maid of honor at her first wedding.  We lost touch after I moved to Los Angeles and, while my mom saw her once or twice over the decades, I never saw her again. I didn't realize she was gone until I read it here. Rest in peace, Katrinka, and thank you for so many happy teenage times together.

I had a lot of good times with Kathy.  She was a wild one! Fun and funny.  Does anyone know what she died of?

I always liked Kathy to.   I can still seeing her smiling, and loved her laugh.   So sad to know she  is gone from this life.
