We only ran into each other once after high school,Scott, by which time you had already beento Vietnam and back. You didn't say much about it, but after my own experience there, I suspect it wasn't kind to you...
Welcome home, brother. May you rest this day and always in peace.
Scott was one of my best friends. He was one of my hiking buddies in high school. Before that we met each day and walked to and from PHHS. We took a momentous trip to Yosemite. We hiked from Tuolumne Meadows into the high country and back down into the Tuolumne River Canyon. We ran out of water hiking into a place called Pate Valley and both dove into the river clothes and all when we got to the bottom. I lost track of Scott after his Vietnam tour. I was so very sad when I found he had passed.
Scott was small in stature, but had a giant heart. He seemed reserved but was always willing to share things with you. He was funny in his own way and I enjoyed talking to him. Rest in peace my friend.
I recently found a slide I took of Scott on our backpack trip, through the backcountry of Yosemite National Park. The photo was taken at our campsite at Return Creek.I think I shouted at Scott which accounts for the startled look on his face. Sorry about the photo quality but thought it would be of interest. Rest in Peace Scott. Bob Cornelius
