hello PHHS class of 65. wow, looking over the list and seeing your names is an emotional experience for me. Even though I guess it should not be it is a shock to read the names of those who have passed away.I know it should not be a shock that people die but this reunion thing has a way of making time stand still in a way.
It has been a long time and most of a lifetime since 1965 and I am sure we have all changed in so many ways. It will be fun to say hello again. Paul

School Story

After High School I went to work for Karen Rices' father as a painter for one year and then decided to try going to school for real. The time I spent with Tom Rice and the memories of his family have stayed with me and are very close to my heart.
After that I floated around various state colleges and eventually dropped out. My favorite experiences there being at DVC where I became close friends with some of my former high school members of various classes, some ending up becoming life long friends.
I went back to the trades, moved to the Sierras and became a carpenter and eventually a general contractor. After 20 years there I really went back to my roots and bought a ranch in northern utah which I retired from and sold in 2008.
If the truth be told I think my motivation through all my moves was to not be further than 30 minuets from the bottom of a ski lift.I guess we all have our priorities.
I still keep horses and ride have become addicted to tennis and try my best to not piss off my wonderful wife !! I ended up in Brookings or. where I broke the cardinal 30 minute rule but go back to the Rocky mnts. for a thirty day fix every year. Hopefully Lori will eventually be willing to ride some of my favorite lifts and horses and spread my ashes in those spots. See Ya

Happy Holidays to all!
This has been quite the year indeed!
I,be watched all of the Happy birthdays on the site and reflected on our mutual turning to 70 years of living. Listened to your tales of travel and important events smiling along the way.
This year has been historical to me and most likely to many of you as well.
We started which the passing of Stephen and Kathy Carlsons’ daughter Shannon followed by an old friend of ours from Murphy’s, Ca. My wife’s father followed, with my father shortly afterwards. It seeemed as if we came home from one to just get ready for the next.
Passing of parents is expected. Reflections of long we’ll lived lives mixed with the sad thoughts of being un able to share the future with them.
Losing Shannon to her long and well fought battle with cancer was very hard. She and my daughter Sarah were infant and toddler friends and she holds a dear spot in my heart.
We lost a good deal of our summer to an evacuation due to the Chetco Bar Fire. Lots of ash, smoke and a few close flames. But nothing compared to the ordeal faced by Myke and Dave Judd in the Santa Rosa Area. My thoughts were truly with all of the victims of that tradjedy.
So, this year has sure been a milestone of a year in so many of our lives. Over all I find myself still happy and greatful to be around to experience all there is to come. I sincerely hope this note finds all of you in the best of spirits and enjoying the people around you. Paul

Hello phhs classmates,
I check out the site when I get an email saying there has been something new but it seems a little rare so i thought I would contribute.
spring is here and summer before we know it. It will be a year since the 50th I hope this note finds all of you happy and healthy. None of us escape the aging process with all its' pitfalls so i won't bore you with mine! Many of us are doing some traveling and i hope you are enjoying what you see of the big wonderful world! We recently toured New Zealand for a thirty day stay and had a great time there, meeting lots of wonderful natives as well as some very interesting fellow tourists. I loved the country side and mountains in N.Z. its' many lakes and rivers. We have some friends living on the south island and a nephew on the north so we had some ins on some great spots to see!
anyway, I am thinking of trying to make the anual all class picnic if I can and would love to say hello to those who can be there!! Cheers , Paul
